Cameroon – Edéa Hydroelectric Power Station

May 7th, 2010

In Edéa, 70 km south-east of Douala the capital of Cameroon, in the Sanaga river a new hydroelectric power station is being constructed. The company in charge is Belgium contractor Besix.

The power station is designed for 32 MW power output and destined to supply power to the local Alucam aluminium smelter and Edéa itself of course. A shrewd investment in renewable electricity.

The soil investigation is done with equipment, including a fully automated vane testing device, supplied by Gouda-Geo.
