CPTU Testing in Azerbaijan
January 21st, 2015As you might know, Gouda-Geo has clients 103 countries nowadays (we are very proud of that, as you can imagine). In the picture you can see a Griffin 200 kN crawler-based CPT penetrometer pushing rig we recently delivered to a client in Azerbaijan.
The top layer of the reclaimed land consisted of compacted gravel and was not very favourable for anchoring. It is for this reason that first a 120 mm pilot hole was drilled by the anchor motor using a pre-drill auger. That same auger can be used to make a pilot hole prior to CPT(U) testing.
All operations are controlled safely and conveniently by means of the remote control unit.
