Depth Encoder for Deep-Sea CPT Testing

Recently Gouda-Geo developed in close cooperation with an engineering company specialised in the design and manufacturing of high-tech underwater equipment a depth encoder for deep-sea Cone Penetration Testing.

The unit is manufactured of high-grade stainless steel and filled entirely with oil. It is therefore suitable for water depths as deep as 2500 metre. The unit will be mounted on a deep-sea CPT penetrometer rig and will synchronise the recorded CPT data with the penetration depth.

It is a incremental shaft encoder with push-pull output circuit, that counts in 2 directions.
