Patent Awarded!

Today we have been informed by the Dutch Ministry of Economical Affairs, that Gouda-Geo has been awarded an international patent for a 100 kN down-the-hole CPT and soil sampling device called “Stinger 100 kN”.

Based on the initial idea of Mr. Wim Zuijderduijn Gouda-Geo designed and built the “Stinger 100 kN”, an advanced device for so-called down-the-hole cone penetration testing (CPT) and soil sampling from within a string of drill tubes. The basic principle of the idea is using a steel wire rope for both lowering and hoisting the device and use the same wire rope to generate the force to penetrate the soil. This idea proved to be so innovative that both parties decided to have it patented.
