Register Subsurface Data in The Netherlands

March 21st, 2013

At this moment a new law is being prepared in The Netherlands named the Register Subsurface Data (in Dutch Basisregistratie Ondergrond or BRO in short) which is expected to become into force on January 1, 2015.

This law will assure in the future that all relevant soil and subsurface data (including the results of Cone Penetration Tests) will be archived, managed and made available at one central point. This will enable the re-use of data and parallel research and investigation activities will be avoided.

BROinfo is the central point where all key documents and information about the creation of this new Register are brought together. You will find an explanation of the present and future situation, the technical and practical principles and answers to many questions in respect to the implementation of this new law.
